Mountain Peak Films is proud to be part of the My Jihad, My Story documentary project:
In March 2011, two young Canadian freelance filmmakers traveled to Libya to document what would later be known as the February 17th Revolution. After the fall of Gaddafi, the two friends parted ways, traveling separately to Tunisia and Egypt, documenting the unfolding events of the Arab Spring. They would later cross paths again in Syria.
Throughout their respective journeys, the images captured and the stories they tell are all at once eye opening, shocking and certainly moving. One thing they did not expect was how they were touched by all the individuals they met during their travels. Whether they self identify as rebels, freedom fighters, foreign fighters, mujahideen or jihadists, all these individuals have their own motives to be part of what they believe is something bigger than themselves. Each follow their own definition of Jihad. Every single one of them has a story to tell. The two friends felt it was their responsibility to share these stories and approached Mountain Peak Films to assist them in bringing their ambitious project to fruition, a full length documentary called My Jihad, My Story. We have recently started production and are excited to be part of this project.
This is their Jihad, this is their Story. What is yours?
